BETHEL, Vt. (DDN) – Vermont State Police arrested nine people last week after a multi-agency drug search in Bethel, seizing illegal narcotics, various firearms, and even a grenade launcher.
The Vermont Drug Task Force, VSP, and other specialized teams collaborated with the Windsor County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday to raid a property on Gage Road.
According to authorities, the warrant was issued in connection with an investigation into a cocaine and fentanyl ring that had spread across Chittenden, Washington, and Windsor counties.
Police found more than a kilogram of cocaine and fentanyl, as well as a manufactured “ghost gun” with no serial number, two sawed-off shotguns, a grenade launcher, several long guns, and three handguns with extended magazines.
Several animals were also taken during the investigation after authorities discovered them living in unclean conditions. They have since moved to the Royalton Country Animal Hospital.
Police said Richard Boles and India Tweedie, both of Bethel, were arrested on gun, drug, and animal cruelty charges.
The following individuals were arrested for a variety of drug and firearm charges:
- Andrea Veroneau – Bethel
- Moses Gardner – Bethel
- Tyler Taitague – Bethel
