ColoradoTopgolf’s parking lot surveillance footage reveals an employee shooting two coworkers, killing one and wounding the other.

According to records from the Colorado Department of Corrections, 27-year-old Victor Salazar-Guarache was given a 48-year jail term for the murder of 22-year-old Bryce Holden and an additional 20 years for shooting a coworker who survived. Shortly before 1 a.m. on December 23, 2023, Holden and the other employee are seen on camera leaving the Topgolf in Thornton, a Denver suburb, and making their way toward the parking lot. Salazar-Guarache exits his vehicle, assumes a shooting position, and begins firing at the two guys from a distance of a few feet. Holden drops to the ground instantly. Despite being struck by the bullets, the surviving victim managed to flee. The footage indicates that even if Holden is on the ground, Salazar-Guarache keeps shooting.

An affidavit claims that the shooting happened when a Lyft driver was picking up a client from the Topgolf. As the alleged murderer went back to his car, the driver reported to the police that he saw Salazar-Guarache laughing.

A few hours after the suspect drove off, the police took him into custody. On another video, officers can be seen handcuffing Victor Salazar-Guarache and escorting him to the police station for questioning. The victims and the suspect had a disagreement while they were at work, although the precise reason was never revealed.

A judge condemned Salazar-Guarache last month after he entered a guilty plea to murder and attempted murder in September.

Holden’s family was devastated by the shooting, as Law&Crime previously reported.

Rod Holden, the victim’s father, told Denver-based NBC station KUSA, “He was my baby.” He was joking all the time. He would be sitting there razzing ya with a smirk on his face. He was just like that.

According to his father, Bryce Holden was studying Spanish on his own and intended to relocate to Barcelona in the upcoming two years.

Rod Holden told KUSA that Bryce had firmly held values. He was always working on himself. Although he always tried to see the best in everyone, he would call you out if he felt you were capable of doing better. The news story has a face behind it. I want people to understand that the news story has a soul behind it.
