The evidence brought before the jury detailed a chilling forty-minute ordeal where Green held his girlfriend and her young child captive in their own home. Despite her family making repeated calls to 911, Green stabbed his girlfriend 21 times, starting with a single stab to the chest, followed by a flurry of 20 more strikes as she attempted to protect her son. After the attack, Green fled, only to be captured a month later. The judge, the Honorable Rainey Brandt, has scheduled the sentencing for January 10, 2025, where Green could face up to 30 years behind bars.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, this case was a concerted effort by the Metropolitan Police Department, with the investigation leading to Green’s apprehension. The trial itself spanned over seven days, drawing to a close with today’s verdict.
