The streets of Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood were marred by gun violence over the weekend, according to local law enforcement. A 55-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting early Saturday morning as he stood on a sidewalk on the 200 block of North Hamlin Avenue. At approximately 2:06 a.m., he heard a gunshot and then realized he had been hit in the left hip,

. The victim was promptly transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
The weekend shootings continued with an additional fatality. Another incident occurred late Thursday night, where a man was found deceased in an alley after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. As reported by
