The streets of Chicago’s East Garfield Park neighborhood were marred by gun violence over the weekend, according to local law enforcement. A 55-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting early Saturday morning as he stood on a sidewalk on the 200 block of North Hamlin Avenue. At approximately 2:06 a.m., he heard a gunshot and then realized he had been hit in the left hip,

, police officers arrived at the 2700 block of West Harrison Street after 10:30 p.m. and discovered the victim’s body near a series of evidentiary markers placed by Gardens cans.

So far, no arrests have been made in either case, and the victims have not been publicly identified pending notification of next of kin.
