A 5-year-old child with special needs died Tuesday afternoon, and the White Pine Police Department has verified that an investigation is in progress. According to WATE, the infant was discovered to have experienced cardiac arrest when police arrived to a call on Harrison Road at around 2:36 p.m. Within two minutes, officers were on the scene, but the infant had already passed away.
The body has been taken to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center for an autopsy, and the circumstances surrounding the child’s death are being extensively investigated. The White Pine Police Department has acknowledged the active and ongoing nature of the investigation and promised to release more details as they become available. On unrelated charges, an arrest was made at the site, according to information that WVLT was able to gather.
White Pine Police Department Chief Chad Cotter told WBIR that when the police arrived, the youngster had no heartbeat and was not breathing. William Sipple, the child’s father, was arrested after allegedly assaulting the child’s mother, which happened independently of the child’s death, according to the statement’s conclusion. Since then, Sipple has been freed on bond with a no-contact order against the mother of the kid.
The circumstances at the residence have complicated matters further by involving the Department of Children’s Services, which is now working with the family’s other kid, an 8-year-old girl. Since the police had previously had reason to respond to the family, Chief Cotter pointed out that the Department of Children’s Services acknowledged the start of an inquiry. According to WBIR’s story, information on the 5-year-old’s impairment is now being kept confidential pending the autopsy’s findings.
