Residents of White Settlement and its neighboring communities were in for a treat as the White Settlement ISD Honeycomb Holiday Market opened its doors last Saturday. The seasonal event, now in its 10th year, promised a variety of goods and activities to usher in the festive spirit. According to a social media post by theCity of White Settlement, the market was held at the Brewer High School cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Visitors were welcomed with “Pancakes with Santa,” a returning favorite catered by BHS Culinary students, and they enjoyed the charm of the Life Skills students running their own coffee shop. A plethora of vendors were on hand, presenting an assortment of items ranging from homemade confectioneries and various foods to artisan crafts and holiday decorations. Among the offerings were unique creations like custom-engraved cups and cutting boards, textiles like knitted blankets, and a range of homemade jams and jellies.
The Holiday Market was more than just an opportunity to find the perfect gift; it was a chance to support local students and craftspeople. The market allowed visitors to delve into handcrafted goods and participate in supporting the educational programs that integrated these students into an entrepreneurial environment. As visitors wandered through the booths, they were surrounded by an array of sweets, such as cookies and cake balls, delicious eats including tacos and burgers, and a selection of beverages from lemonades to hot chocolate, crafted to beat the chill in the air.
