According to police, a Maryland lady killed her husband after claiming to have discovered images and communications “indicating” that he was having an extramarital affair.
Nicole Ward, 50, of Bowie, is accused of asking her husband, Damian Ward, 53, to “pack his bags and leave the house” — forcing the couple to dispute further — before reportedly shooting him with a.357 S&B Magnum revolver, according to charge documents acquired by local Fox station WTTG.
Following the deadly shooting on July 19, the Prince George’s County Police Department issued a press release announcing Nicole Ward’s arrest on Monday. Bowie is approximately 30 miles southwest of Baltimore.
According to WTTG, Nicole Ward’s charging records detail how she reportedly told police that she discovered images and texts on her husband’s second phone, which caused the dispute. Nicole Ward allegedly informed police that the content showed Damian Ward “was having an extramarital affair with another woman.” It is unclear whether Damian Ward replied to the cheating claims.
Nicole Ward faces first- and second-degree murder charges, as well as other connected counts. According to online court documents, she was in the Department of Corrections’ custody on a no-bond status on Wednesday.
