Pittsburgh, PA – A Winter Weather Advisory will take effect at 1 a.m. Wednesday, bringing a mix of snow and gusty winds to the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Western Pennsylvania is expected to see snow accumulations of up to six inches, while areas within the Winter Storm Warning zone, including parts of West Virginia, could experience totals as high as 10 inches. Along with heavy snow, wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are forecast, creating hazardous travel conditions due to reduced visibility and potential whiteout conditions.
The advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. Thursday. During this period, the NWS warns residents to prepare for challenging driving conditions. Blowing snow may lead to drifts and sudden visibility drops, making travel especially dangerous.
