A woman remains in critical condition after being run over and then stabbed in a domestic dispute that escalated in Canoga Park, authorities confirm.NBC Los Angelesreported the violent encounter occurred around 5 p.m. on Saturday in the 21000 block of Cohasset Street. The incident appeared to stem from an altercation over a vehicle between two individuals with a past relationship and shared children.

After the argument, the man got into the vehicle, driving into the woman, subsequently knocking her to the ground, and in the moments following, proceeded to stab her multiple times before fleeing the scene on foot, according to theLos Angeles Police Department’s statement to FOX LA. The woman was then transported to a nearby hospital, where she is fighting for her life with critical injuries.

In the aftermath, the silver sedan used in the attack was found crashed through a fence and into the yard of a Canoga Park home, as detailed byCBS Los Angeles.
