A woman was shot to death in the Westmont area of South Los Angeles, with deputies responding to the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning. According toCBS News, Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department deputies arrived at the 2000 block of Century Boulevard around 12:40 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found Los Angeles Police Department officers already present, investigating a related traffic crash.

Further investigation revealed a woman found inside a vehicle that had collided with a concrete foundation in an alley just south of Century Boulevard. Unfortunately, she was suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, as per the LASD’s statement.
