Woodland Hills Man Suspected of Fentanyl Sales Arrested by Ventura County Task Force

Ronald Joseph, 24, of Woodland Hills, was taken into custody by Ventura County law enforcement officials from the Ventura County Fentanyl and Overdose Crimes Units (VC FOCUS) on suspicion of selling drugs. The arrest occurred on November 13 following an undercover operation that involved social media and surveillance operations, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives contacted Joseph, who was allegedly using social media to promote the sale of illegal fentanyl pills, and set up covert purchases. Investigators kept a tight eye on Joseph and discovered that he was part of a fentanyl distribution network to Ventura County residents. After executing a search warrant at his Woodland Hills apartment, they discovered and confiscated a firearm and more than 1,000 fake M-30 tablets.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect is a known gang member from Los Angeles County with a history of convictions. Joseph, who was arrested in Newbury Park when he reportedly attempted to engage in a drug trade, is charged with possession of a handgun by a felon and possession for the sale of prohibited substances, among other offenses.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Joseph posed a serious risk to the community since his residence was used as a base for drug distribution operations. He was arrested and placed in the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility and is not eligible for bond because he is on parole.

The public can get in touch with the VC FOCUS investigators for more information. Ventura County Crime Stoppers is conducting community outreach by providing a reward for information that results in further arrests related to this case.
