MEMPHIS, Tenn. (DDN) – According to the Collierville Police Department, a serious incident in Collierville early Friday morning resulted in the death of one person and injuries to two others. The crash also caused parts of Highway 385 to be closed.
According to fire firefighters, they responded to a four-car accident that occurred on Highway 385 eastbound between Houston Levee Road and Byhalia Road at approximately 5 a.m.
According to the Collierville Police Department, the accident occurred while a car was traveling the wrong way on the roadway. According to reports, the car collided with another vehicle that was traveling in the right direction.
The driver of the vehicle that was hit head-on was declared deceased at the site. The motorist who caused the crash was taken to Regional One in severe condition.

The driver of another vehicle that was involved in the incident was brought to Regional One for treatment of minor injuries.
According to the police, Highway 385 was reopened to regular traffic at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday. This study is still in progress.
