HARRIS COUNTY, Tex. (DDN) – The driver, who is 23 years old, was taken into custody and charged after deputies reported that he, while driving under the influence of alcohol, collided with their patrol car in the east part of Harris County on Tuesday morning.
The 18900 block of East Freeway was the location where deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reacted to reports of a driver who was driving in the wrong direction.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the two responding deputies immediately took action and positioned their car in such a way that the driver of the vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction, who has subsequently been identified as Nathan Arevalo, 23, struck their vehicle rather than other vehicles.

According to Gonzalez, Arevalo struck the deputy’s vehicle; however, fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.
Arevalo was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated after he displayed signs of impairment.
