Wylie Police Seek Community Help in Locating Missing Resident Melonie Ballenger

The Wylie Police Department is on the lookout for a missing resident, and they’re calling on the community for assistance. According to a social media post made by the Wylie Police Department, 46-year-old Melonie Ballenger has been missing since Monday. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Parkwood Dr after her husband reported her absence from their home. The last confirmed sighting of Melonie was the previous night at around 10 pm.

A thorough search was conducted involving both K9 units and a helicopter from the Texas Department of Public Safety, but these efforts did not lead to any sign of the missing woman. The Wylie Police Department is reaching out to citizens in the vicinity, requesting that they review any outdoor camera footage captured between midnight and 6 am for potential clues. “Residents in the area are asked to review their outdoor camera footage between the hours of 12 am and 6 am to see if there is any video of Melonie in the area,” the Wylie Police Department posted on their Facebook page.

Described as being approximately 5’7″ and weighing 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, details concerning what she might have been wearing at the time are currently unknown. Melonie left the house without her vehicle or phone, adding to the urgency and difficulty of the case.

Those who have any relevant information are urged to come forward and contact Detective Pollard at 972-429-8014. The point of contact for media inquiries was provided as Sergeant Donald English, and he can be reached at 972-841-0104 or via email at [email protected].
