Method to Find numbers for getting laid in the Old Dominion
We understand that this question is related to a bar topic, which is why we rely on Saturday Night Science. To determine the ranking of places with the highest likelihood of finding romantic connections in Virginia, we needed to identify the key factors that contribute to successful hookups. It’s likely that individuals will be more social in places with a high number of young singles, where people are not married and do not have children, and where there are many adult activities available.
Considering this, we utilized the latest 2018-2022 American Community Survey Census data generated for Virginia. We combined it with data from OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0, and colleges from IPEDS.
Can’t really get any better data than that.
We paid particular attention to:
- Population density
- % of population that’s female (More females than males)
- % of unmarried people in each city
- % of households with kids in each city
- Colleges per capita
- Bars per capita
