Gov. Kristi Noem Said Biden's Dog Should to Be Shot as Well

After receiving criticism for a passage in her new book about murdering her dog, Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota advised that Vice President Joe Biden should do the same thing with Commander, the dog he had previously owned.

In the book that she wrote, Noem describes how she ended up killing her dog, a wirehaired pointer named Cricket who was 14 months old, because the dog had exhibited aggressive tendencies. Additionally, Noem says that if she were to arrive at the White House, she would give the command, “Commander, please say hello to Cricket.”

It had been reported that Mr. Biden’s dog had bitten someone while they were at the White House. The German shepherd was removed from the White House in the previous year as a result of repeated documented reports of aggressive conduct toward members of the Secret Service staff.

It was on Sunday’s episode of “Face the Nation” that Noem made the statement that the “president should be held accountable” for the acts of the dog. After being asked by the moderator, Margaret Brennan, whether she was suggesting that the dog should be shot, Noem responded once more by adding, “That is what the president ought to be accountable to.”

Before deciding whether or not to have a dog, the Republican governor asked, “How many people is enough people to be attacked and dangerously hurt before you make a decision on a dog?”

In her defense of the action and its inclusion in the book, Noem has stated that she was protecting her children and that it was a difficult decision for her to make. During an interview that took place on Monday with “CBS Mornings,” she stated that “the purpose of telling the story was so that people would know that I do not pass my responsibilities on to anybody else.”

The political future of Noem, however, has been the subject of a lot of speculation in recent days. Noem was one of the candidates that was being considered for the position of vice president, which would be to run with former President Donald Trump in the election that would take place in November. The move, however, “ended any possibility of her being picked as VP,” according to Newt Gingrich, who served as the Speaker of the House in the past. This is despite the fact that Noem was among the potential vice presidential candidates at a retreat for Republican donors that took place over the weekend in Palm Beach, Florida.
