History Lesson on the KKK

The KKK stands for the Ku Klux Klan. The KKK, which stands for the Ku Klux Klan, was established in 1865. There have been three different periods of the KKK, all of which claimed to be movements aimed at “purifying” America. The movement that took place from 1865 to the 1870s aimed to remove Republican state governments from power.

In the second movement (1915 – 1944), a large number of people joined the KKK. This group was against immigration into America, particularly targeting Catholics and Jews.
