Gun Violence Erupts in New Orleans, Marking a Deadly Weekend

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – On Monday morning (June 17), the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) announced they are investigating two more shootings after a very violent weekend.

Since Friday night, the NOPD has responded to six shootings. These incidents left six people injured and two people dead.

The latest shootings occurred early Monday morning. One man was killed on Downman Road, and another person was injured in a shooting on North Robertson Street.

The surge in violence has left the community shaken and looking for answers.
