New Orleans Coroner Reveals Identities of Two Homicide Victims

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office has identified two individuals killed in separate shootings on Wednesday in New Orleans East. The victims, Warren Richard, 45, and Coriana Leggett, 28, were both declared dead at their respective scenes.

Incident Details

On Wednesday morning, Warren Richard was found shot dead in the Little Woods area, specifically in the 10800 block of Kinneil Road. The police received the call about the shooting shortly after 8 a.m. Richard was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the first of two tragic incidents that day.

Later that afternoon, at around 4 p.m., Coriana Leggett was shot and killed in the 10800 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Similar to Richard, Leggett was declared dead at the scene by responding officers. The proximity and timing of these two incidents have raised concerns and prompted a thorough investigation by local authorities.


The New Orleans Police Department is actively investigating both homicides, although no further information has been released by either the coroner’s office or the police.
