Portillo's Expands Presence in Orlando with New Restaurant at Waterford Lakes!

Chicago-based restaurant chain Portillo’s has announced plans to open its third location in the Orlando area by the end of 2024. Known for its iconic hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, and decadent chocolate cake, Portillo’s continues to expand its presence in Florida, marking this new outlet as its seventh in the Sunshine State.

Located at Waterford Lakes Town Center near the University of Central Florida’s main campus, the new 7,800-square-foot restaurant will accommodate nearly 200 diners in its dining room, with an additional outdoor patio for about 40 guests. The facility will feature a grab-and-go pick-up area and a double drive-thru, aiming to enhance convenience for patrons.

Portillo’s CEO Michael Osanloo expressed enthusiasm for the new venture, highlighting Orlando as a promising market for the brand’s Chicago street food offerings. The exact opening date has yet to be finalized, but the expansion reflects Portillo’s commitment to further growth across the Sunbelt region.

Currently, Portillo’s operates six locations in Florida, including Brandon, Clermont, Kissimmee, Orlando, St. Petersburg, and Tampa. Each location plays a part in the chain’s strategic expansion, catering to local communities with its signature menu items and distinctive dining experience.
