In a smash-and-grab heist at a jewelry store in Missouri, two men from the Detroit area acknowledged stealing watches valued at thousands of dollars.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Missouri, 25-year-old Kordaryl Cross entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property on Tuesday.
On July 29, 34-year-old Dajuan Marcellus entered a guilty plea to the same offense. A maximum sentence of five years in jail, a fine of $250,000, or both are available for this charge.
The two men admitted to authorities that they had planned to rob an Ellisville retailer of Rolex watches.
Marcellus bought a prepaid Visa gift card on January 2; eight days later, Cross used it to buy sledgehammers from a Missouri business.
According to officials, Marcellus, Cross, and at least two other individuals took a Dodge Ram pickup from Brentwood and used it to drive to the jewelry store in Ellisville.
While Marcellus and the other individual entered the business and used sledgehammers to destroy the glass cases, Cross kept an eye on the clock.

They took the watches and drove to a parking garage, where they left the vehicle they had stolen.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office claims that Cross and Marcellus then brought the timepieces to Illinois.
Cross’s sentencing is scheduled on December 9, while Marcellus’s is scheduled for October 29.
