DDN – A Wayne State University employee was killed after they were struck by a vehicle while walking in Detroit Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at about 8:41 a.m. in the area of Woodward and Warren Avenues.
Detroit police said two automobiles were engaged in a crash and one of the autos hit the employee. The employee was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash is being investigated.
The university says it provides counseling and psychological services to its employees. Students can also access these services.
“We are communicating with our colleague’s loved ones and expressing our heartfelt condolences. “Please continue to support and care for one another throughout our community during this difficult time,” university President Kimberly Espy said in a statement.
