Man Killed, Another Injured in West Philadelphia Shooting; Police Officer Fatally Shoots Dog After Attack

DDN – A man was killed and another injured in a shooting in West Philadelphia on Monday night, according to authorities.

The incident occurred on the 4100 block of Leidy Avenue shortly before 8:45 p.m.

Police said a guy was shot twice in the abdomen and pronounced dead at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center at 9:09 p.m. The second man was shot in the lower back and abdomen and is in stable condition at Penn Presbyterian.

Police claimed a weapon was discovered, but no arrests have been made as of yet.

A police officer shot and killed a dog at the scene of the shooting after it bit his colleague, according to police.
