Sleeping Driver Crashes Through Waffle House in Memphis; Citation Issued by Police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (DDN) – According to the Memphis Police Department, a man fell asleep in a parked car and slammed it into a Waffle House.

Officers arrived at the Waffle House, located at 1550 Sycamore View Road, on Friday at 11:15 p.m. to respond to the crash.

According to the police, a red Buick Enclave was parked in front of the company when the driver of a 2012 Buick Enclave drove over the curb stops and between the yellow barrier posts.

According to the police, he crashed the front bumper of his vehicle into the front entrance of the business and then drove into the building.

The motorist caused significant damage to the front doors and the inside of the business.

The driver stated that he was in his Buick in the Waffle House parking lot when he fell asleep in front of the restaurant and woke up inside it.

He was sent to the hospital and was not in critical condition. According to the police, no one was hurt at the scene.

The driver was given a citation for hitting a parked vehicle or fixed object, not having a state driver’s license, not having financial responsibility, not keeping sufficient control, and having a mandatory court date on April 10.
