AMC Theater Stabbing Attack Left Six People Hurt, and a Massachusetts Man Was Detained

A man from Massachusetts was arrested after six people, including four girls at a movie theater, were stabbed in different attacks. State and local authorities believe that these attacks may be related.

According to the police, on Saturday night, four girls were stabbed in a movie theater in Braintree, a city located about 13 miles south of Boston. The attack was described as “unprovoked.” The girls, who were between the ages of 9 and 17, received medical treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening. They were then taken to hospitals in Boston.

According to Massachusetts State Police, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were stabbed at a McDonald’s in Plymouth, which is a coastal town about 27 miles southeast of Braintree. This happened about an hour later. The two people who were hurt were taken to nearby hospitals. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

The Braintree police said that although the two attacks happened in different places, they believe that the crimes are connected.

The police in Braintree reported that they identified the suspect’s vehicle. State police then chased the vehicle, which eventually crashed in Sandwich, a town about 45 miles southeast of Braintree. According to authorities, the driver was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.

The suspect’s name is Jared Ravizza, he is 26 years old and from Chilmark. This information was announced by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office on Sunday. Ravizza will be charged with several crimes in Plymouth District Court on Tuesday. These charges include assault with the intention to murder, as well as two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The district attorney’s office in the country said that the investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police.

A man entered the AMC Braintree 10 theater at around 6 p.m. on Saturday. He walked past the ticket counter without paying and went into one of the theaters, according to the police. “According to the police, he attacked and stabbed the four young females without saying anything or giving any warning,” the statement said.

According to the police, the man ran away from the theater and left in a black SUV. The authorities watched surveillance footage and tracked his movements, which included recording the license plate of the vehicle.

“They appeared as if they had just watched a horror movie instead of a children’s movie,” said moviegoer Mateo Rojas in an interview with Boston25 news. “The children appeared very surprised.”

According to the police, a vehicle that matches their description was reportedly involved in an assault in Plymouth.

The Massachusetts State Police received multiple calls around 7 p.m. reporting a stabbing of two employees at a McDonald’s restaurant, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office. The surveillance footage seemed to show Ravizza reaching through the McDonald’s drive-thru window and stabbing the male victim with a big knife.

The video then showed Ravizza leaving the drive-thru to park his car. He then went inside the McDonald’s and stabbed another woman, according to the county district attorney’s office. Ravizza then ran away from the place and state troopers found his car in Sandwich, according to state police. The troopers tried to stop the vehicle, but it didn’t stop. As a result, the suspect crashed.

“According to the state police, a preliminary investigation indicates that there may be a connection between this incident and a previous one at a movie theater in Braintree. In that earlier incident, four young people were injured, but their injuries were not life-threatening.”
