The Philadelphia Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Pennsylvania State Rep. Kevin Boyle. The warrant is for breaking a protection from abuse order. There is no more information available at the moment. Boyle is a Democrat who represents a portion of Northeast Philadelphia. He has been serving in the House since 2011.

House Majority Leader Matt Bradford, a Democrat from Montgomery, released a statement on Tuesday night expressing his concerns about Kevin’s mental health. He mentioned that he cares for Kevin but is saddened to see him in this state. I hope he receives the assistance he requires.
Boyle gained attention earlier this year when a video on social media appeared to show him drunk at a bar. According to reports, he was heard threatening to use his power to shut down the place and refusing to leave. He said he was looking for assistance after that event.
Boyle is the younger brother of U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle and he graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School. He has a bachelor’s degree from La Salle University and a master’s degree from Harvard.

Police Seeking Arrest of Pennsylvania Lawmaker
Philadelphia police announced on Tuesday that they have issued an arrest warrant for a state lawmaker. The lawmaker is being charged with violating a restraining order. The police spokesperson mentioned that they couldn’t provide any information about the warrant issued for Rep. Kevin Boyle.
Boyle, a Democrat from Philadelphia, has been arrested before. In 2021, he was charged with harassment and violating a protection from abuse order for going to his wife’s house. According to his attorney, at that time, it was described as a “domestic issue” and Boyle was not accused of being violent.
Boyle and his lawyer from the 2021 case did not respond to a phone message on Tuesday evening. The charges against Boyle were dismissed. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Boyle wrote a letter to his constituents in 2022, explaining that receiving treatment at a mental health facility afterwards was crucial in saving his life.
The Inquirer reported that House officials took away Boyle’s position as committee chairman and his access to the Capitol in February. This happened after an incident at a bar in Montgomery County. House officials took similar actions following Boyle’s arrest in 2021. House Democratic leaders stated that Boyle was dealing with ongoing mental health issues at the time.
