DDN – Authorities in western Wisconsin said that a lady was arrested for OWI after swerving to miss a deer and crashing.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reported a crash on its Facebook page on December 21 at roughly 2 a.m. According to reports, authorities reacted to a single-vehicle crash on WI-STH 131.

The motorist, a 20-year-old woman from Wisconsin, swerved to avoid a deer and crashed into a ditch, according to the announcement. The woman allegedly suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

Officials say the woman displayed indicators of impairment and was arrested for driving while intoxicated. It was also said that the automobile is believed to be a total loss.
