Detroit (DDN) – Raymonte Darrell Adams, 19, of Detroit, is on trial after an encounter last month in which he reportedly hit and dragged a Detroit police officer with his automobile.

The incident escalated on December 11, 2024, when Adams was discovered parked on the pavement. He disobeyed cops’ commands and drove his vehicle toward them.

Officers attempted to stop Adams, who quickly reversed, damaging another parked vehicle and allegedly driving toward Officer A. In a tense moment, an officer is heard threatening to shoot, eventually firing numerous shots into the car as Adams raced ahead, striking and pulling Officer A. According to FOX 2 Detroit, another cop, known as cop B, fired bullets at the fleeing vehicle from behind.

Officer A and Adams were both reported to have incurred non-life-threatening injuries during the confrontation. Adams has since been charged with numerous felonies, including assault with intent to murder.
