According to Florida City Police, Shooting Leaves Victim in Critical Condition Florida City police responded to a tragic shooting incident late Tuesday night, reported just before 10 p.m., outside a residence in the 1200 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, inside a vehicle.
Due to adverse weather conditions, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel transported the victim by ground to Jackson South Medical Center, where he was initially listed in critical condition.

Police have since confirmed that the victim remains on life support and is not expected to survive.
Identified by his brother to Local 10 News, the victim is 21-year-old Eric Jackson, described as a dedicated individual who stayed out of trouble and cared deeply for his child.
Authorities believe the shooter may be a relative of the victim, and Miami-Dade Police’s Homicide Bureau has taken over the investigation, intensifying efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
At the scene, a Local 10 News crew witnessed the vehicle with Jackson inside being towed away, marking a somber moment for his family and the community. Relatives, deeply affected by the incident, including Jackson’s 1-year-old daughter, are hopeful for justice.
“They’re very upset, but they’re just praying and hoping that everything comes out on our side,” expressed Johnny Grandjean, Jackson’s brother-in-law.
