Michigan Central Welcomes Visitors with New Tours and Dining Experience

After receiving over 160,000 visitors this summer, Michigan Central announced that it will begin offering guided tours. It also plans to establish its first restaurant in the fall.

According to a news release, tickets will be needed to explore the station, according to officials. The excursions, which are provided in collaboration with Detroit History excursions, will show guests the ground floor of the station, including sections that are closed to the general public.

This autumn, Michigan Central is going to open Yellow Light Coffee & Donuts in addition to the tours. The restaurant, owned by a Detroit company, will be the station’s first food and beverage establishment.

On the east side of the city, Yellow Light first debuted in 2020. Takeout and dine-in customers can find the restaurant at the east entrance of the station. A later time will bring further details about the hours to light.

“We are so humbled by the outpouring of support and excitement from the community that came to explore The Station this summer and share in this new beginning,” Joshua Sirefman, CEO of Michigan Central, stated. “To those who have traveled near and far, your support is instrumental as we continue to breathe new life into this iconic landmark and build a brighter future for Detroit around it.”

In June, Michigan Central held a performance and a 10-day open house to commemorate its grand reopening. It welcomed over 100,000 visitors in the summer and continued to be open to the public through Labor Day weekend.
