Police Share Picture of Suspect Who Jumped from Camaro, Shot and Killed Man in Detroit

The Detroit Police Department has intensified efforts to apprehend a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that occurred nearly a month ago on Detroit’s west side. The incident, which claimed the life of a 30-year-old man, unfolded late in the evening on Saturday, June 15th, near the intersection of Central St. and McGraw Ave.

According to official reports, the suspect arrived at the scene in a gray or silver Chevy Camaro. Surveillance footage captured the suspect exiting the vehicle from the passenger’s side, brandishing a long gun, and approaching the victim. In a swift and tragic sequence of events, the suspect fired upon the victim before quickly retreating to the Camaro and fleeing the area.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by authorities pending notification of next of kin, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.

In an effort to expedite the investigation and solicit public assistance, The Detroit Police Department has released a surveillance image depicting the suspect. The image shows the suspect dressed in dark clothing, holding the long gun, next to the suspect vehicle.
