DDN – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a single-vehicle accident that occurred late on Tuesday night on United States Route 29 in Escambia County resulted in the death of a Cantonment girl who was 17 years old.
It was approximately 11:45 p.m. when a Toyota SUV that was traveling southbound on U.S. 29 south of Tate Road went off the roadway to the right, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
After traversing the center median and the northbound lanes of traffic, the vehicle eventually collided with a ditch that was located along the eastern shoulder of the thoroughfare.
A private parking area located off the roadway was where the vehicle came to a complete stop, according to the Florida Roadway Patrol.
According to the authorities, the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
