HOUSTON, Tex. (DDN) – A woman’s home on Houston’s southside was devastated late Friday after an SUV plowed into it, taking off one whole side of the building.
Witnesses reported seeing an unidentified male driving down Sunflower Street and Mclean Street around 1:30 a.m.
According to Houston Police, the man was unable to stop in time and crashed into the side of the house, smashing through it before coming to a halt in the backyard.
According to investigators, the driver became trapped within his SUV and needed to be extricated by the Houston Fire Department. He was subsequently transported to a local trauma facility and was last reported to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the homeowner stated that while her home has been demolished, she is relieved that her daughter and grandkids were not present at the time of the disaster.
As of this writing, no other information has been provided, thus it is unknown whether charges will be made or what punishment the driver would face.

Recently, a Kentucky man was killed in a three-car collision in Muskingum County on Tuesday evening.
At roughly 9:35 p.m., James Mumaw, 53, of Chillicothe, was driving an eastbound semi-truck on Interstate 70 near mile marker 146 in Hopewell Township when it pulled left off the highway, crossed the median, and collided with two vehicles traveling the other direction.
According to a community statement issued by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver of one of the vehicles, Robert Rebitski, 26, of Hebron, Kentucky, incurred serious injuries and died as a result of the collision.
George, Robert’s father, had fewer serious injuries than the other passengers. His illness was not life-threatening.
