But is it the best city to find romantic partners? The purpose of this post is to use Saturday Night Science and data to find out the easiest places in West Virginia to meet someone for a romantic encounter.
We analyzed 27 of the most populated areas in West Virginia, each with over 5,000 people. Based on our analysis, we have compiled a list of the ten places in the state where it is easiest to find a sexual partner.

Method to Find the Numbers for Getting Laid in West Virginia
We understand that this topic may be related to a bar conversation, but that’s precisely why we utilize Saturday Night Science.
In order to determine the likelihood of finding a sexual partner in West Virginia, we needed to identify the factors that contribute to successful hookups. It’s reasonable to expect that people will be more interested in romantic relationships in places where there are many young singles, fewer married couples with children, and plenty of adult activities to enjoy.
We used the latest data from the 2018-2022 American Community Survey Census for the state of West Virginia. We combined it with data from OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0, and colleges from IPEDS.
We paid particular attention to:
- Population density
- % of population that’s female (More females than males)
- % of unmarried people in each city
- % of households with kids in each city
- Colleges per capita
- Bars per capita
We assigned a “Chance To Get Laid Score” to each city. The higher the score, the better the city is for finding romantic opportunities. We only included cities that have a population of over 5,000 in our results. West Virginia had a total of 27 cities.
