Teen Driver and Passengers Killed in Dallas County Crash, One Hospitalized in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (DDN) – Four people, all between the ages of 17 and 19, have died in a single-vehicle accident in Dallas County.

According to Alabama State Troopers, an 18-year-old from Wetumpka was driving a car that went off the road and crashed into a tree. The driver died.

Furthermore, three passengers perished at the scene: a 17-year-old from Selma, a 19-year-old named Isaiah McDade from Pike Road, and a 19-year-old named Tyler Jones from Montgomery.

Deneco Smith, a 19-year-old from Montgomery, was another passenger who was hurt and sent to Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma for treatment. Later thereafter, Smith was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for more treatment.

According to investigators, the 18-year-old, the 17-year-old, McDade, Jones, and Smith were not wearing seat belts when the incident occurred.

The accident occurred last night on U.S. Highway 80, about 10 miles east of Selma, just before 6:30.
