But is it the best city to find romantic partners? The purpose of this post is to use Saturday Night Science and data to determine the easiest places to find a romantic partner in Oregon. We have analyzed 59 of the most populated areas in Oregon, each with over 10,000 people. Based on our findings, we have compiled a list of the ten places in the state where it is easiest to find a sexual partner.

In order to determine the likelihood of finding a sexual partner in Oregon, we needed to identify the factors that contribute to successful hookups. It’s reasonable to think that people will be more interested in meeting and dating young singles, in areas where people are not married and don’t have children, and in areas with many adult activities.
We used the latest data from the 2018-2022 American Community Survey Census for the state of Oregon. We combined it with data from OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL 1.0, and colleges from IPEDS.
We paid particular attention to:

- % of population that’s female (More females than males)
- % of unmarried people in each city
- % of households with kids in each city
- Colleges per capita
- Bars per capita
