TEXAS – Texas is known for its vibrant nightlife and lively party scenes, but which cities are the best for making new romantic connections? A new study sheds light on the places where socializing — and sparking something more — comes a little easier.
Leading the list is Webster, Texas. With a Get Laid Score of 75.5, Webster once again claims the top spot. Although it’s a smaller city with a population just over 12,000, its youthful energy, mix of bars, and college presence make it a prime spot for meeting new people. According to the study, Webster has remained steady at number one from last year.
Right behind Webster is Richardson, Texas. Known for its college-town feel and energetic bar scene, Richardson scored 74.2. With a population over 118,000, the city continues to attract a young, unmarried crowd, keeping it a hot destination for singles year after year.
Dallas also performed well in the rankings. With a Get Laid Score of 73.0, Dallas jumped up one spot from last year. The city’s massive population, paired with a high number of bars and colleges, keeps the social scene buzzing and opportunities plentiful.
San Marcos, a classic college town, came in slightly lower than last year, dropping two spots. However, with a score of 71.9, its fun atmosphere and student-driven nightlife still make it one of Texas’ best cities for forming new connections.
Stephenville made the most dramatic leap in this year’s rankings. Moving up 11 spots from last year, the town posted a score of 70.6. Its smaller size doesn’t stop it from having an active, youthful scene fueled by college life.
Houston, the largest city in Texas, also held its ground. With a Get Laid Score of 70.3, Houston remains one of the top cities for meeting new people, thanks to its 27 bars, 21 colleges, and a massive pool of singles across its sprawling neighborhoods.
Belton stayed steady in the rankings as well. With a score of 68.7, Belton combines a friendly, close-knit feel with the energy that comes from a young and active population. Euless rounded out the top eight, maintaining its spot from last year with a Get Laid Score of 68.2.
To determine these rankings, researchers used what they call “Saturday Night Science.” They analyzed factors like population density, the percentage of unmarried residents, the ratio of women to men, households without children, and the number of colleges and bars per capita. The data was pulled from the latest 2018-2022 American Community Survey, OpenStreetMap, and the IPEDS database.
Only cities with a population over 10,000 were considered, resulting in a sample of 228 Texas cities. Each location was scored based on how favorable the environment is for forming romantic connections.
This 2024 update marks the tenth edition of this unique ranking, offering a fun and data-driven look at the best places in Texas to meet someone new. Whether you’re looking to make new friends, find romance, or just enjoy a lively night out, these cities offer some of the best odds in the state.
