Method to Find the Wisconsin Cities With Largest Hispanic Population For 2024

We used Saturday Night Science to compare race data from the US Census for every city in Wisconsin. The most recent data available for Wisconsin is from the 2018-2022 American Community Survey. We specifically examined table B03002, which provides information about Hispanic or Latino origin by race. These are the names of the categories defined by the Census:

  • Hispanic or Latino
  • White alone*
  • Black or African American alone*
  • American Indian and Alaska Native alone*
  • Asian alone*
  • Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone*
  • Some other race alone*
  • Two or more races*

The specific column we are focusing on is the number of individuals who identified themselves as Hispanic or Latino. We only looked at locations in Wisconsin that have a population of more than 5,000 people. We were left with 137 cities. We calculated the percentage of Hispanic or Latino residents in each city in Wisconsin. The percentages range from 24.2% to 0.4%.
