Trenton lands Becomes U.S. most racist city in 2024

Trenton, a city in the United States, was included in a report from 2023 that listed the most racist cities in the country. This report did not portray Trenton in a positive light. That hurts! The website World Population Review ranked Trenton as the 12th city based on various categories and calculations, leading to a negative conclusion.

World Population Review is a website that takes complicated demographic information and turns it into simple articles about the population of different countries and cities. World Population Review was established in 1957 by Dr. Sripati Chandrasekhar, a renowned Indian demographer, economist, sociologist, and scholar. It is an independent organization that is not associated with any political group.

WPR mentioned that it is much harder to measure racism in a specific area compared to measuring population or other demographics. Polls and surveys are commonly used, but sometimes people don’t answer them truthfully, which can lead to inaccurate results.

There are different ways to measure the levels of racism in U.S. cities. Some methods include looking at racist tweets, analyzing Google searches, examining economic inequality, and considering personal experiences or historical events.

Racism is when someone believes that one race is better or worse than another, and that a person’s physical traits determine their moral or social qualities. Racism can be found in various forms in different parts of the United States and the world. It is influenced by factors like culture, religion, history, and economy.

The report found that Black Americans face a high level of discrimination in the United States. That shouldn’t be surprising to anyone living in Trenton or anywhere else.
