Michael Hunsinger, a 58-year-old resident of Castle Shannon, Pennsylvania, has been given a prison sentence of 108 months. After serving his sentence, he will be under supervised release for four years. The sentencing took place on April 10, 2024, by United States Senior District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. This happened after Hunsinger admitted to charges of having and planning to sell large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine.
This case shows that federal and local law enforcement agencies are working together to stop the distribution of illegal drugs. Methamphetamine is a strong stimulant that affects the central nervous system, while cocaine is a highly addictive drug made from coca leaves. Both drugs are known for causing harm to individuals and communities.

The charges are related to an incident that happened on June 3, 2022. The Castle Shannon Police Department, who were investigating narcotics, searched Hunsinger’s home with a warrant. The search resulted in finding over 50 grams of methamphetamine and some cocaine, which showed how much Hunsinger was involved in drug trafficking.
Assistant United States Attorney Nicole Stockey represented the government in the prosecution. This shows that the United States Attorney’s Office is dedicated to fighting against the spread of drugs. United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan commended the teamwork between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Castle Shannon Police Department, which played a crucial role in apprehending Hunsinger.
