Best Places to Live in New York with a Dog
Tribeca, Manhattan
People pay a lot to live in Tribeca, if not the most, but there’s a reason for that. As it is right next to the Financial District, this area is home to many movie stars. It goes south from Canal Street to Vesey Street and is full of huge, beautifully remodeled luxury loft units. At the same time, this place is great for people who love dogs.
There are three dog parks in the area. One of them is Hudson River Park, which has blue ground made just for dogs that can’t see colors. You’ll be glad to know that that big, burly dalmatian at the park doesn’t have to scare your teacup poodle because there is a special place for little dogs to go to the bathroom.
Silver Lake, Staten Island
There are many old, rambling homes in this historic area that have been turned into apartments. The streets lined with trees are a dog’s dream, and people will love how easy it is to walk around the area. You’ll feel like you’re in a small, wealthy New England town when you walk through the cute shops and restaurants. In the middle of town, there is a big park. It has a dog run and lots of places to walk.
This place has tennis courts and a public golf course. As a bonus, the park has a baseball area where your dog can improve his catch. If your dog seems to really want to check out the golf course, it might be because it was built on top of an old graveyard where many Irish settlers were buried.

Long Island City, Queens
Long Island City might be the most exciting new neighborhood in Queens. There are now more choices for everyone, including dog owners, thanks to new buildings, businesses, and amenities in the area.
There are many big parks in other parts of Queens, but Long Island City has four off-leash dog runs within ten blocks of each other. This makes it the city with the most dog parks. All of these dog runs—LIC Dog Park, Murray Playground Dog Run, Dog Park Of Gantry Plaza, and Hunter’s Point Dog Run—are easy to get to on foot.
Bay Ridge, Brooklyn
Bay Ridge isn’t a clear or quick choice for dog lovers in Brooklyn. Trendier parts of Brooklyn, like Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg, and Park Slope, get all the attention because they are great places for dogs. But Bay Ridge is more than just a great place to live if you want to be close to family and friends, see the harbor, and pay low rent or buy a house. In addition, it’s a great place for dogs and their owners.
