Representative Vargas, who is part of the caucus, emphasized the importance of fairness. He said that all individuals who pay taxes should receive equal treatment. Immigrant workers contribute taxes, but many are unable to claim this credit due to not having a Social Security number. The expansion could benefit families with different immigration statuses and make things more equitable for them.
