New York
New York City, also known as the Big Apple, is considered one of the top smart cities globally. The city’s efforts to become a smart city are divided among three offices: the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, the Mayor’s Office of Recovery and Resiliency, and the Mayor’s Office of the Chief Technology Officer. San Francisco
San Francisco is a very advanced and forward-thinking city in the USA. The city was one of the top contenders in the 2016 Smart City Challenge. As a result, it received $11 million in funding from the U.S Department of Transportation. The funds were used to start the SFpark project. This project uses sensors to create digital parking spaces. These smart parking spaces are controlled using pricing that adjusts based on demand. Since the project started, 8,200 parking spots on the street have been converted into digital format.
