These Famous Celebrities Suddenly Moved Away From LA and NYC

Every year, many people who want to be performers move to big cities like Los Angeles, New York City, and London. They hope to make their dreams come true in the film and theater industries. However, once they have achieved fame, they may sometimes desire to take a break or step away from it. Here are celebrities who left the busy cities of LA, NYC, or London for a calm and private life

Celebs Who Moved Away From LA, NYC, Or London

Cillian Murphy

Cillian Murphy lived in London for 14 years. However, he and his wife, Yvonne McGuinness, decided to go back to Ireland because their children, who were born in London, had developed “posh” English accents.

In the Armchair Expert podcast, Cillian mentioned that they wanted the children to have Irish heritage. They were around the age of pre-teens and spoke with very posh English accents, which I didn’t really like. We decided to return.

Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams has taken several breaks from Hollywood during her career. When she is not working, she enjoys a peaceful life with her family in the southern United States. When talking about the first two-year break she took after her career started in the 2000s, she told Bustle, “I felt bad for not taking advantage of the opportunity that I was given, because I knew I was very fortunate.”

However, I also realized that it didn’t really match my personality and what I needed to maintain my sanity. I had moments of feeling anxious and uncertain about whether I was making a mistake and why I was making that choice. I have spent years trying to understand something that I was doing naturally.

Jennifer Coolidge

Jennifer Coolidge developed a strong affection for New Orleans when she visited the city on a spontaneous trip with her friends on New Year’s Eve. She bought a home there because sometimes it’s more exciting and enjoyable to do something without a plan. She said to Condé Nast Traveler, “There were times when a wedding group took control of the bar I was in during a rainstorm.

We all ended up dancing together, getting wet, and having a great time with people we didn’t know until late at night.” Once, there was a situation where a stranger began playing the piano in a lounge, and then another woman started singing. Surprisingly, it turned out to be some of the most amazing music I have ever heard. I think it’s great to be riding my bike on New Year’s Eve instead of going to a fancy party in most cities.

Adrian Grenier

Adrian Grenier decided to permanently move to Austin four years after buying property there. He moved to a farm in Bastrop, which is about 40 minutes away from the city. He chose to leave Los Angeles because he had been working on environmental projects for the past 20 years, but he realized that he wasn’t living in an environmentally friendly way. He also realized that it was not very good at the top.

Jenny Slate

Jenny Slate moved in with her then-fiancé (now husband), Ben Shattuck, during the COVID-19 pandemic. They live in a very old house in a beautiful tiny little seaside town in Massachusetts. During an episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jenny mentioned that she recently moved in with her fiancé. She jokingly described their living situation, saying that her fiancé resides in a very old house that she believes is haunted. She also mentioned that the house has an actual pet cemetery. The item has been in my fiancé Ben’s family since the 1930s, I believe. So, it has been passed down for about 90 years, which is a long time.
