The information analyzed occurred between 2021 and 2022.

This Week in Worcester analyzed the information and identified the top 25 most dangerous cities in Massachusetts. The ranking was based on the amount of crime per person in each city. Per capita is a measure used to calculate metrics for every 1000 people.

2 Western Massachusetts Cities Named Most Dangerous in the State

Pittsfield, Massachusetts was ranked number six statewide. In a population of 43,496, there were 314 violent crimes reported. This means that there were 7.22 crimes per 1000 people. The city of North Adams was ranked as the most dangerous city in Massachusetts for 2022. North Adams, a city with a population of only 12,836, had 128 reported violent crimes. This means there were about 9.97 violent crimes for every 100 residents.
